Immigrant & Refugee Artist Salon
Spring 2025 | Demuth Foundation | 116 E. King Street
As a Welcoming City, Lancaster is a wonderfully diverse community with immigrants and refugees from across the globe. In 2022, we launched an Artist Salon designed for immigrant and refugee artists to offer opportunities for them to connect with the artist community and local patrons, learn about resources to support their work, and showcase their artistry. We’re pleased to announce the Salon will continue in 2025 with a grant from the Lancaster County Community Foundation and led by Cuban artist Claudia Rojas!
All immigrant and refugee artists living or working in Lancaster County are welcome to join us for our spring sessions regardless of the amount of time they’ve lived in Lancaster. The group will meet 6 times to share their work with one another, meet other local artists, and explore opportunities to show their work in our community.
Salon meetings will take place in March and April, with an exhibit to follow May 2 - 31, 2025. Participating artists will be required to attend a minimum of 4 salon meetings in order to exhibit their work in show. Translation and interpretation services will be available if needed.

Teen Council
We are excited for our third year of the Demuth Teen Art Council, a special program for local high school students! Within this council, our goal is to start the conversation on how to include teens into the art community in Lancaster. With teen guidance, we will be working to create programs, opportunities, events, clubs, and any other element teens see that they and their peers are missing in the art community. This year we will be experiencing more field trips, a panel of different art careers open to all teens, a teen organized exhibition, and more art related service projects. Fill out an application for the chance to be a part of the conversation!
This program runs from October 2 - June 18 during 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 4-5. Meetings are held at the Demuth Program Center, 116 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. This program is entirely free to be a part of. Applications are due September 27th by 11:59 pm.

Our internships offer participants unparalleled experience as staff of a small art museum, over the course of 1-2 semesters.
Time Commitment: 1 - 2 WEEKDAYS per week, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., ON-SITE at museums
All opportunities are filled until summer 2025.
