Demuth Foundation Artist Residency Program

The Demuth Foundation is a nonprofit arts organization in Lancaster, Pennsylvania dedicated to preserving and promoting the visual arts by focusing on the groundbreaking work of Charles Demuth (1883-1935), showcasing artists, and inspiring new generations. Our collections, exhibitions, educational programs, and public initiatives of our two museums foster creativity and appreciation of art and artists.

The Demuth Artist Residency program was created to engage with an artist focused on drawing and/or painting to create a new body of work that’s rooted in our collection and artistic community. The residency program will support our mission by fostering deeper connections with contemporary artists and connecting today’s art world with Demuth’s pioneering style and vision for American Art.

We are offering one six-week residency that will be scheduled between June 23 and August 31, 2025. Please list your preferred residency start and end date in the applications. Demuth staff will coordinate specific start date and move in details with selected artist.
