63rd Annual Community Art Exhibition Entry Guidelines


Eligibility

The 63rd Community Art Exhibition is open to all artists 16 years of age or older who reside or work in Lancaster County. If not a county resident, entrants must be a member of the Demuth Foundation.

Entries

All media eligible.

Each artist may enter one piece, which will be accepted for exhibition. Work previously exhibited in a Community Art Exhibition is not eligible. Entries must remain on display until the close of the exhibition. All work must be original and for sale at the opening of the exhibition. Work designed as a set will constitute one entry.

2-Dimensional work must be ready to hang. No clip frames permitted. The entry (including frame) cannot exceed 24 x 24 inches.

Sculptures must not weigh more than 50 lbs., nor exceed 18 x 18 inches at the base, nor exceed 8 feet in overall height.

Dimensions will be strictly enforced to ensure there is space for all entries.

By entering art in this exhibition the artist grants the Museum permission to photograph the work for publicity, catalogue or educational purposes. Submission of entry constitutes the artist’s agreement to all conditions in this prospectus.

Calendar

Deliver Work to LMA: June 20 - July 3 during operating hours (Tues., Thurs. - Sat. 10-4, Sun. 12-4)

The Museum is closed on Monday and Wednesday.

Exhibition Dates: July 12 - September 7, 2025

Opening Reception: Friday, July 11 from 5 - 8 pm

Pick-up Work: September 9 - 12 from 10 am - 4pm

Artwork not picked up by September 12, 2025 will be considered abandoned property and will be handled at the discretion of museum staff.

Fee

A non-refundable fee must accompany each entry:

  • $25 Museum Members

  • $40 Non-members

Juror

G. Daniel Massad earned an MFA from the University of Kansas, where he made the shift from oil to pastel as a painting medium. Since 1983, he has worked full-time in his studio in Annville, PA, and since 1984 he has been represented by galleries in Philadelphia and New York. His still lifes have entered many private and public collections, including the National Gallery of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Smithsonian American Art Museum, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. He is currently represented by Forum Gallery.

Insurance & Liability

The Lancaster Museum of Art will insure works at the Museum between June 20 and September 12, 2025. The insurance value is either the sale price or another value established by the artist. In the event of a loss, the insurance carrier reserves the right to establish value using standard industry practices. The Lancaster Museum of Art will not be responsible for damage caused by improper framing, instability, or inherent vice.

SALES

The Lancaster Museum of Art will charge a 30% commission on art sales during the run of the exhibition.
