Carol Morgan was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa but since college graduation and employment as a product designer for Armstrong World Industries has made her home in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Morgan’s range of work includes painting, watercolor and needlework. Subjects range from the specific (florals, landscapes etc.) to the abstract. Whimsey, wit and playfulness are unifying themes in much of her art. Using a wide variety of media, often unconventional, Morgan’s chosen materials are an intrinsic part of the final statement. Frequently expressive gesture (unreadable “calligraphy”) energizes the work and may tease and intrigue the viewer to engage in mental dialogue with the art.

Morgan served as Director of the Demuth Foundation (Museum) in Lancaster, PA from 1985-1996. The museum is housed in Charles Demuth’s restored Lancaster home and dedicated to his art and to the history of the Demuth Family. She is an active member of the Echo Valley Art Group.
